Nopetro LNG, LLC, FE Docket No. 20-167-LNG
Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office
February 10, 2026The Office of Fossil Energy gives notice of receipt of an Application filed December 28, 2020 by Nopetro LNG, LLC (Nopetro), requesting consolidated long-term and short-term multi-contract authorization to export domestically-produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) in an amount up to the equivalent of 51.75 billion cubic feet (Bcf). Nopetro requests authorization to export LNG to (1) any country with which the United States currently has, or in the future may enter into, a free trade agreement requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas (FTA Nations) and (2) any country with which the United States does not have a free trade agreement requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas with which trade is not prohibited by United States law or policy (Non-FTA Nations). The authorization is requested through December 31, 2050. Nopetro plans to transport the LNG in approved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) containers from the liquefaction facilities to ports on the Gulf Coast of the United States, where the ISO containers will then be loaded onto ocean-going container vessels for delivery to emerging markets. Nopetro LNG requests this authorization on its own behalf and as agent for other parties who hold title to the LNG at the time of export.
