In 2019 the average annual gasoline price by region ranged from a low of $2.35/gallon in the Gulf Coast to a high of $3.43/gallon in the West Coast region, which includes California. The higher average price there is likely influenced by California’s use of cleaner, reformulated gasoline.

Midwest - Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Wisconsin

New England - Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont

Central Atlantic - Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania
