Amchitka, Alaska, Site

The DOE Office of Legacy Management took responsibility for all subsurface completion and long-term surveillance and maintenance activities at the Amchitka site in 2008. The Amchitka site (a Weapons-Related and Vela Uniform Site/Offsite) requires records-related activities, stakeholder support, and an environmental monitoring and mud pit cover system inspection and maintenance trip every five years.
