The U.S. Department of Energy and the State of Alaska are proposing to jointly fund a project that is intended to demonstrate and evaluate the feasibility of wind turbinegenerated power in the challenging Alaskan environment. Several sites in Naknek, Unalaska, and Nome, Alaska, underwent an initial evaluation to determine their potential suitability for the proposed wind turbine project.
