The EA analyzes the potential effects of a proposal to renovate and demolish several existing facilities and construct new facilities. The EA analyzes the effects on health, safety, water use and liquid effluents, air quality, waste management, and cultural resources resulting from these activities and operations and assocaited cumulative effects.
This Environmental Assessment (EA) addresses the proposed action by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to authorize the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) to allow public access to the Boiling Nuclear Superheat (BONUS) reactor building located near Rincón, Puerto Rico for use as a museum. PREPA, the owner of the facility, is proposing development of the facility as a museum.
The DOE, NNSA has assigned a continuing role for LANL in carrying out its national security mission. To enable LANL to continue this enduring responsibility requires that NNSA maintain the capabilities and capacities required in support of its national mission assignments at LANL. In order to accomplish its mission support activities, a reliable, increased electric service supply is necessary. NNSA needs to provide the capability to meet enhanced electric power requirements of LANL facilities in a timely, fiscally prudent manner.
Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is funding ongoing studies, research, and artificial production of coho salmon in the Wenatchee and Methow river basins. BPA analyzed environmental impacts of these activities in the Mid-Columbia Coho Reintroduction Feasibility Project Final EA, completed in April 1999 (DOE/EA-1282). Supplemental Analyses (DOE/EA-1282/SA-01 and -02) were prepared in April 2001 to analyze effects of additional activities proposed for the project, and in October 2001 for the Peshastin Incubation Facility. In March 2002 BPA categorically excluded dredging behind Dam 5 at the Leavenworth Fish Hatchery in connection with the project
