The U.S. Department of Energy, in coordination with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, conducted an environmental assessment that analyzed the potential impacts associated with the construction and operation of the proposed Wind Technology Testing Center in the Charlestown section of Boston, Massachusetts.
The Environmental Assessment (EA) provides information and analyses of proposed U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) activities associated with consolidating existing communications operations and removing excess facilities and infrastructure within the Fitzner/Eberhardt Arid Lands Ecology Reserve (ALE) at the Hanford Site near the City of Richland, Washington. DOE has determined that the proposed action is not a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment.

McKenzie Electric Cooperative (MEC), through Upper MIssouri Generation and Transmission Electric Cooperative (UMGT), has applied to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Western Power Administration (Western) for a new electrical interconnection. This project would require the construction of temporary interconnection (Killdeer interconnection) at Western's Killdeer Substation and a new 115-kilovolt (kV) transmission live which would extend about 13 miles northward from Western Killdeer's Substation to a new MEC Mountain Substation, all in Dunn County, North Dakota.
