Based on the analyses in the Environmental Assessment, DOE determined that its proposed action - awarding a federal grant to Norwich Public Utilities to facilitiate installation and operations of a high-efficiency natural-gas-fired cogeneration facility - would result in no significant adverse impacts.

The Department of Energy is proposing to authorize the expenditure of Federal funding by the University of Minnesota to design, permit, and construct a wind turbine research facility.
The objective of this environmental assessment (EA) is to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of creating and operating a high-energy x-ray Stand-Off eXperiment (SOX) Range at the INL Site by evaluating two alternatives: (1) the proposed action, and (2) a No Action alternative. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) reviewed several possible alternatives and determined that the only reasonable alternative involved locating the project at a previously disturbed location north of Test Area North (TAN)/Technical Support Facility (TSF) to meet the purpose and need and satisfy program requirements; no off-site locations met the site selection criteria.
The Department of Energy has completed the Final Environmental Assessment for the Idaho National Laboratory Stand-Off Experiment Range and determined that a Finding of No Significant Impact is appropriate.
