National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) issued a Final EA in December 2013 that analyzes the potential environmental impacts of eight hatchery supplementation programs for the conservation and recovery of Snake River spring/summer Chinook salmon and summer steelhead. The program operators would be the Nez Perce Tribe, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. BPA adopted the EA and issued a finding of no significant impact for BPA’s proposed funding of activities associated with three of the hatchery programs analyzed in the EA: the Lostine River, Upper Grande Ronde River, and Catherine Creek spring/summer Chinook production programs.
