Summary
The Department of Defense (DoD) (Office of the Secretary of Defense), acting through the Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO), and in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Nuclear Energy (NE) prepared an environmental impact statement (DOE/EIS-0546) to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of constructing and operating a prototype mobile microreactor capable of producing 1 to 5 megawatts of electrical power. The Department of Energy (DOE) will provide technical expertise and support to DoD.
