Continued Operation of the Los Alamos National Laboratory
DOE proposes to continue operating the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) located in Los Alamos County, in north-central New Mexico. DOE has identified and assessed four alternatives for the operation of LANL: (1) No Action, (2) Expanded Operations, (3) Reduced Operations, and (4) Greener. Expanded Operations is DOE’s Preferred Alternative, with the exception that DOE would only implement pit manufacturing at a level of 20 pits per year.
