EPA announces the availability of the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the North Plains Connector (DOE/EIS-0568), issued by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Montana Department of Environmental Quality. This draft EIS assesses the potential environmental impacts of a proposed 525-kV, high-voltage direct-current overhead transmission line that would provide 3,000 megawatts of bi-directional transfer capability and connect the Western and Eastern Interconnections.
