Energy Conservation Standards for Manufactured Housing

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) issued a Record of Decision (ROD) for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Proposed Energy Conservation Standards for Manufactured Housing (DOE/EIS-0550). DOE has decided to The ROD presents DOE’s decision to establish energy conservation standards for manufactured housing based on the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (“IECC”) using a tiered approach based on the size of the manufactured home, as described in Alternative B2 in the final EIS.

DOE has also committed to mitigation measures, as described in the ROD, that would reduce adverse impacts to indoor air quality, health and safety, socioeconomics, and environmental justice.

Additional information about the EIS, including the Notice of Intent, slides presented at the public scoping meetings, the draft EIS, recordings of the draft EIS public meetings, the final EIS, and the ROD can be accessed on the EIS website at https://ecs-mh.evs.anl.gov/.
