The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) based on the environmental assessment (EA) for Steam Plant Ash Disposal Facility and Industrial Landfill at the Y-12 Plant; Anderson County, Tennessee (DOE/EA-0564). The EA assesses the potential environmental impacts of installing a wet ash handling system to dewater bottom ash from the coal-fired steam plant at the Y-12 Plant and constructing an additional landfill for disposal of industrial wastes, including the dewatered bottom ash.
