The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) proposes to characterize, dismantle, and disposition switchyard equipment, transmission towers, and auxiliary electrical components at the Paducah Site that are no longer needed. The activity also includes rerouting the Paducah Site security fence around the switchyards, infrastructure maintenance, and the construction of coverings or caps for subsequent openings that will prevent the introduction of rainwater and debris.
