This Amended Determination follows the approval of additional funding, extended period of performance, new teaming partners, and new project milestones to support the project team's small-scale research and development activities of an anode-free sodium cell comprising safe, low-cost, fluorine-free liquid electrolyte materials. Specifically, the project team will (1) fabricate, test, and validate battery cells to meet initial performance and safety metrics, (2) refine, fabricate, test, and validate iterative production rounds for increased performance and safety metrics, and (3) fabricate final battery cells to meet end-goal performance and safety metrics.
