OIKO Energy Inc. has applied for authorization to transmit electric energy from the United States to Canada pursuant to Section 202(e) of the Federal Power Act (FPA).

OIKO Energy represents that it is "expecting to become a power marketer engaging in the purchase and sale of physical and/or virtual energy in the Day-ahead and Real-time Markets of various Independent System Operators and Regional Transmission Organizations." OIKO Energy represents that it has no native load obligations and that any power purchased would be surplus to the needs of the selling entity, as a result its exports would not impair the sufficiency of electric supply or impede or tend to impede regional coordination of electric utility planning or operations. The existing international transmission facilities to be utilized by OIKO Energy have been previously authorized by Presidential Permits issued pursuant to Executive Order 10485, as amended, and are appropriate for open access transmission by third parties.
