The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Arizona State University (ASU) for the design, development, fabrication, and laboratory testing of non-silicon solar cell characterization equipment and solar cells. Design, development, and laboratory testing of the solar cell characterization equipment would occur at ASU in Tempe, Arizona and at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado. Any work proposed to be conducted at a federal facility may be subject to additional NEPA review by the cognizant federal official and must meet the applicable health and safety requirements of the facility. Solar cell fabrication would occur at Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, Colorado and in part at ASU.
