The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the Bishop Paiute Tribe Environmental Management Office to deploy clean energy systems in order to achieve the Bishop Paiute Tribe’s long-term goals of energy self-sufficiency and environmental protection. The goal of this project is to install 34 grid-tied, net-metered rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on owner-occupied, single-family homes of low-income families living on the Bishop Paiute Reservation. These installations would also provide new employment opportunities for newly trained installers.
