The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to GoMeter to perform business development activities through the Excelerator Program. Specifically, GoMeter has developed a mechanism to read water meters with a camera-based device to capture the physical display of existing water meters. This information can then be saved or transmitted for analysis. This could enable water meters to become 'smart' with responsive, predictive, and preventative features. The objective of the project is to fully understand the market opportunity. GoMeter would focus on a comprehensive customer discovery effort and develop a specific go-to-market plan. GoMeter is a sub recipient within the PICHTR award, DE-FG36-08GO88146. PICHTR administers the Energy Excelerator Program which has a previously NEPA determination (GFO-GO88146-009, CX A9, A11, B5.1, 3/27/2013). This is a new project within the program.
