The Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to the State of Colorado Energy Office to design, procure, and install roof top solar photovoltaic (PV) on client homes eligible under the Weatherization Program with Program Year 2015 funds. The PV systems would be installed on only eligible single family homes, as defined by the use of an energy audit which demonstrates that the savings over the life of the measure discounted to present value outweigh the initial cost. No structural improvements of the roof or building would be made to any of the homes, beyond the necessary electrical connections for the project. Each PV system would be net-metered with a grid connection. Installation of these systems would require additional wiring and electric breaker equipment to tie the solar PV system to the existing electric service for the home. All PV systems would be up to a 5kW system or smaller. No ground disturbance would be required.
