Feasibility and FEED study to scale up processes for converting natural and recycled synthetic graphite ton-scale pilot plant which will culminate in the construction of pilot plant facility at a brown-field site which already has permits for chemicals and waste disposal. Parallel research will be conducted at labs (WPI and OFEM) to optimize existing industrial processes by minimizing chemical waste, reclaiming and reusing water and acid, reducing energy consumption during heat treatment, and exploring the use of low-cost carbon coating precursors.
