CX-035134: A Domestic Critical Material Solution: Abundant Graphite Anode Substitute for Lithium Batteries

This project will produce a silicon oxycarbide coal derived alternative anode active product (SiOC CD AAP) at lab-scale. The SiOC CD AAP will be characterized using physical and electrochemical methods to establish the viability of the anode technology, resulting in the fabrication of pouch cell prototypes. Life cycle analysis (LCA), techno-economic analysis (TEA), and feasibility studies will be conducted.
