The City of Ann Arbor is proposing to use federal funding to select, purchase and construct one or more wind generators (wind turbines). The proposed project would also include public outreach and education to raise awareness about wind energy. Finally, the installed generator(s} would be used as a research platform on which to test new wind technologies, such as new blade designs and materials or gearboxes, among other potential innovations.
