DPTS provides testing support for the Tritium facilities using non-radioactive isotopes (protium and deuterium). This involves construction of small gas handling manifolds to examine gas transport phenomenon between areas with large pressure differentials. To isolate the specific properties of the gas, it is desirable to condition and maintain the test components at constant temperature and humidity levels. A 64 cubic foot Environmental Chamber (EC) is installed in the 723-A High Pressure Laboratory (HPL) to accommodate this type of testing. The gas handling test rigs, assembled outside the EC, will be supplied with Hydrogen (H2) by a small pressurized vessel and installed inside the EC. Total H2 gas in the test apparatus will be limited to 60 standard liters.
