The Battery Manufacturing and Recycling Grants Program is designed to provide grants to ensure that the United States has a viable domestic manufacturing and recycling capability to support a North American battery supply chain.

Eligible Uses

Demonstration projects, construction of commercial-scale facilities, and retrofit or retooling of existing facilities for battery component manufacturing, advanced battery manufacturing, and recycling.

Recipients

Institutions of higher education, national laboratories, nonprofit and for-profit private entities, state and local governments, and consortia of entities described in paragraphs (1) through (4).

Period of Availability

Available until expended.

Battery Manufacturing and Recycling Grants is funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA 40207 (c)).
