On December 16, 2016, pursuant to section 3 of the Natural gas Act, DOE issued an order authorizing Southern LNG, LLC to export domestically produced LNG by vessel from the Elba Island Terminal, located in Chatham County, Georgia, in a volume equivalent to 130 Bcf/yr of natural gas to non-FTA countries for a 20-year term. Along with the order, DOE issued a finding of no significant impact and adopted the environment assessment previously issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the Elba Island Liquefaction Project.
