The Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management gives notice of receipt of an Application filed April 6, 2023, by Corpus Christi Liquefaction, LLC, CCL Midscale 8-9, LLC and Cheniere Marketing, LLC (collectively, “CCL Midscale Trains 8 & 9 Project”), seeking long-term multi-contract authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) up to the equivalent of 170 billion cubic feet of natural gas per year to Free Trade Agreement (FTA) countries, and to Non-Free Trade Agreement (NFTA) countries. CCL Midscale Trains 8 & 9 Project proposes to export LNG from its proposed Corpus Christi Liquefaction Midscale Trains 8 & 9 Project, to be located at and adjacent to the existing Corpus Christi LNG Terminal in San Patricio and Nueces Counties, Texas, to any country that has, or in the future will have, the capacity to import LNG via ocean-going carrier, with which the United States has, or in the future enters into, an FTA requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas, and/or NFTA countries, with which trade is not prohibited by U.S. law or policies. Authorization is requested for a term extending through December 31, 2050. CCL Midscale Trains 8 & 9 Project requests this authorization on its behalf and as agent for other parties who hold title to the LNG at the time of export. A Federal Register Notice will be issued for the NFTA portion of this application.
