DOE ordered Anthony, Inc. to pay a $2,041,089 civil penalty after Anthony manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of noncompliant walk-in coolers and freezers doors. The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Anthony.
On January 25, 2019, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Anthony finding that basic models of walk-in coolers and freezers did not meet DOE requirements. Anthony provided DOE records showing the number of units Anthony distributed.
