Bob Skinner has been involved in the nuclear business for his entire working life. Following his graduation from Colorado Mesa University, he spent eight years in the United States Nuclear Navy serving as an instructor at Nuclear Power School and on the USS Jack (SSN-605). After eight years of active duty, he went to Omaha Public Power Districts Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station and was facilities Plant Health Physicist. He attended college at the University of Nebraska and enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserve while in Omaha. In 1980, Bob moved to Idaho to work at the Idaho National Laboratory in many management capacities before ultimately retiring in 2006. He was commissioned as an Engineering Duty Officer in 1981 and retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2007 at the rank of Captain. 

Bob lives in Idaho Falls with his wife, Julieann, and enjoys teaching many topics to school children as well as adults. He remains busy with many activities involving veterans and their needs. He is a Blue and Gold Officer for the U.S. Naval Academy and speaks to different organizations on many nuclear related topics.
