Today, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management released the Final Request for Proposals for Small Business Nationwide Deactivation, Decommissioning and Removal (DD&R) to perform DD&R of Facilities, Waste Management services, and Program Support services.
This contract is available to programs with sites across the United States including but not limited to the Office of Environmental Management (EM), National Nuclear Security Administration, Office of Naval Reactors, and the Office of Science, as well as other DOE Offices or Federal Agencies that may request EM assistance.
A multiple award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with a 10-year ordering period is anticipated utilizing Firm-Fixed-Price and Cost-Reimbursement Task Orders.
The initial task order to be issued under the Small Business Nationwide DD&R contract is an acquisition for support of the Energy Technology Engineering Center Mission Completion project located in Area IV of the Santa Susana Field Laboratory, and includes Environmental Monitoring, Surveillance and Maintenance, Project Support, DD&R, and Groundwater Remediation.
For more than 30 years, EM has remained focused on addressing the environmental legacy of nuclear weapons development and nuclear energy research that helped end World War II, win the Cold War and position the United States as a leader in clean nuclear energy. Collectively, EM is delivering results that are protecting the environment, supporting communities, and enabling a concerted focus on safely completing the mission sooner and more efficiently.
