Contracts/Acquisition​
Removing concrete at the airport landfill

  • Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Bridge Contract commenced October 1
  • Lifecycle Baseline is under review at EM-HQ
  • NRDA Assessment Contract awarded on September 24

Transition

  • New manager, Doug Hintze, started on September 20
  • Additional staff recruitments underway

D&D Progress

  • Demolition of building 286 at Technical Area 21 is complete
  • Waste disposition of TA-21-286  is expected to be complete by the end of December
  • The D&D of the Sewage Treatment Facility continued

TRU Waste Progress

  • Surveillance & storage of remediated nitrate salt drums performed safely and compliantly
  • Preparations for the remediation of nitrate salts continues

Soil/Groundwater Progress

  • The Draft Environmental Assessment for the Chromium Project  was posted for public comment on September 30. The public comment period will end November 13
  • Enhanced Control Certification Packages for final nine Individual Permit sites submitted to EPA.  IP Compliance was achieved ahead of schedule
