On February 17, 2004, a Bechtel Bettis, Inc. (BBI) employee tripped and fell on uneven pavement while walking in a designated pedestrian walkway in the parking lot at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Muffin, Pennsylvania. The accident resulted in a first-aid case with minor injuries and escalated to an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable incident due to complications related to the injury and pre-existing medical conditions.
