Description
On Jan. 25, 2024, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO) announced $171 million for 49 projects to support industrial innovation.
The 49 selectees represent high-impact, applied research, development, and pilot-scale technology validation and demonstration (RD&D) projects that will reduce energy usage and increase productivity across the industrial sector.
The competitively selected projects from this FOA will focus on eight topic areas:
- Industrial Heat
- Low-Carbon Fuels Utilization R&D
- Exploratory Cross-Sector R&D
a. Enabling Flexible Industrial Energy Use
b. Enhanced Thermal Conductivity Materials, funded by the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office (AMMTO) - Chemicals
- Iron and Steel
- Food and Beverage Manufacturing
- Cement and Concrete
- Forest Products.
