On March 26, 1998, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (EA 98-02) to Fluor Daniel Hanford Company for violations of 10 C.F.R. 830 associated with criticality safety infractions and a radiological controls violation that occurred between November 1996 and June 1997, and a May 1997 explosion at the Plutonium Finishing Plant at DOE's Hanford site.
