On November 19, 2025, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Enforcement notified Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC of its intent to investigate potential deficiencies in the implementation of DOE’s 10 C.F.R. Part 851 Worker Safety and Health Program requirements associated with a thumb amputation event at the Savannah River Site.
