American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellowship (STPF) Application Deadline

DOE hosts American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellowships (STPF), designed to establish and nurture critical links between federal decision-makers and scientific professionals in supporting the creation of beneficial public policy. The DOE AAAS STPF Program provides opportunities to scientists and engineers to participate in policy related projects.

Each year, EERE seeks talented and passionate AAAS Fellows that can support technical, programmatic, strategic, and policy efforts that will meet clean energy goals and drive innovation in U.S. manufacturing.

Qualified candidates will have a strong technical background in an engineering field or applicable physical sciences (e.g. materials, chemistry, and physics) and preferably experience in industry. Fellows will work closely with DOE staff – including several former Fellows – and will develop a broad understanding of the potential of new technologies as well as the barriers to technology deployment.

Application Timeframe: The deadline for applications is November 1 each year. From February through early April, a panel of reviewers will evaluate and make selections. Apply here.

Term Length: Up to two years; terms typically start in September.
