In March 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy National Community Solar Partnership (NCSP) released its first public annual update to share progress on the partnership’s activities and key metrics on its impact. NCSP leadership discussed the results of the annual update and ways to get involved in the partnership’s projects and activities. Watch this recording of the webinar and follow along with the slide deck [PDF] to learn more.
In 2021, NCSP set a target to enable community solar to power the equivalent of 5 million households by 2025, generating $1 billion in electricity bill savings for subscribers. To support the industry in reaching this target, NCSP developed the Pathway to Success, a set of initiatives designed to address the most pressing and persistent challenges to community solar deployment.
This target and the Pathway to Success initiatives were shaped by modeling conducted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, which identified the market drivers that will have the largest impacts on community solar growth and how NCSP activities support those market drivers. Learn more about these modeling results in the recording and slides from the March 2022 NCSP webinar Getting to 5 Million: Current Community Solar Deployment and Pathways to Reach 5 Million Households.
