The U.S. Department of Energy National Community Solar Partnership (NCSP) hosted a webinar on September 1, 2022 to launch the Municipal Utility Community Solar Workbook, which provides guidance and resources to municipal utilities considering community solar. Watch a recording of the webinar.
NCSP, the American Public Power Association, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory invite municipal utilities and other community solar stakeholders to join the webinar to learn more about the workbook and how organizations have used these resources to develop community solar in their utility territory. This webinar is open to the public.
The workbook was created through the NCSP Municipal Utility Collaborative. The collaborative leveraged support from technical experts and peer learning to support municipal utilities in creating or scaling programs that expand affordable community solar access to low-income and other disadvantaged communities. Collaborative members worked together to address common barriers to community solar development such as identifying siting locations, procurement, contracting, navigating unique energy systems, and program design and finance.
