Solar Energy Technologies Office Lab Call FY2025-27

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory system is an integral resource for the Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) to invest in innovative solar research and development that will increase the reliability and resilience of the nation’s electricity grid and lower costs, while also developing next-generation solar technologies and boosting U.S. solar manufacturing.

The SETO Lab Call FY2025-27 funding program supports core capabilities at the national labs as well as research and development projects that aim to fill gaps, introduce new areas of investigation, and address specific questions to help speed energy technology development.

Approach

This funding program works to improve the affordability, reliability, and domestic benefit of solar technologies on the electric grid. These projects will have a significant impact on driving innovation and lowering costs of solar energy.

Objectives

Projects are distributed across four major areas: concentrating solar-thermal power, photovoltaics, soft costs, and systems integration. Expand the accordions below to learn more about the projects.
