Our Mission
The mission of the Advanced Mining and Mineral Processing Technologies (AMMPT) Office is to expand American mining and mineral production by developing and deploying advanced technologies.
What We Do
AMMPT funds research and development (R&D) for mineral resource characterization, extraction, and extractive metallurgical processing. AMMPT also funds advanced R&D collaborations, such as METALLIC and HERMES, in coordination with the U.S. National Laboratories. These initiatives address high-priority challenges related to minerals production, including:
- Characterization and Prospecting
- Mining and Extraction
- Production and Processing
