The 2024 Design Challenge included more than 250 students in 40 Finalist Teams from 37 collegiate institutions. Teams competed in one of four divisions: Single-Family Housing, Attached Housing, Multifamily Building, or Education Building.
The 2024 Design Challenge Division Winners were announced during the Competition Event in Golden, Colorado, April 19-21, 2024. The Design Challenge builds on the 20+ year legacy of the program in creating a global community of current and future professionals dedicated to tackling the most complex problems facing the buildings industry.

2024 Design Challenge Grand Winner
The University of Arizona—Tucson, Arizona (Attached Housing Division)
In partnership with the Hopi Tribe, the team designed 24 rowhouses that integrate passive design techniques and a microgrid, while promoting energy sovereignty.
