On January 31, 2026, the Department of Energy (DOE) issued emergency DOE Order No. 202-26-11, pursuant to section 202(c) of the Federal Power Act, to Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC). The order was issued subsequent to OUC application. The order authorizes OUC's generating units located within the OUC region to operate up to their maximum generation output levels, notwithstanding air quality or other permit limitations arising under federal, state, or local law or regulation, or other applicable source of law. The order is in effect beginning on January 31, 2026, and shall expire at 10:00 a.m. EST on February 6, 2026.
