WASHINGTON, D.C. - Next week, Secretary Perry will be visiting Israel and Egypt to discuss regional energy security issues with government officials and energy stakeholders. In Israel, he will hold bilateral meetings with his government counterparts in Jerusalem, visit Israel’s National Cyber Directorate facilities in Be’er Sheva, and tour the Noble Gas Ashdod Onshore LNG terminal.

Secretary Perry will then head to Cairo, Egypt where he will represent the United States at the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum. This Forum brings together leaders from the Eastern Mediterranean region to collaborate and coordinate on efforts to harness the energy potential in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The U.S., along with the European Commission and the World Bank, are supportive of this Forum as a way to bring Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority together to promote energy development and economic opportunity in the region.
