About the Project

The Weatherization Assistance Program reduced utility bills and addressed major electrical and mechanical issues in a client’s home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Challenge

Christine had lived in her home for 21 years and didn’t realize how high her utility bills were. She said that sometimes the utility bills were higher than her house payment.

Solution

When the Weatherization Assistance Program conducted their energy audit, they found that in the attic the ductwork had been disconnected, electrical wires were unsafe, and there was no insulation. The Weatherization Assistance Program was able to insulate the attic, improve the ductwork and ventilation systems in the home, and address the electrical safety issues.

Positive Impact

The upgrades to Christine’s home reduced her bills and increased her comfort. She also had positive experiences with the staff that came into her home to complete the work.

“It’s a game changer, it just changes everything,” shared the homeowner.
