Michael Harris is the Legislative Affairs Advisor (House) in DOE's Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Harris most recently served in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Division of Congressional and Legislative Affairs at the Department of the Interior.  Prior to that, Michael served as Senior Policy Advisor and Appropriations Associate in the office of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, where he advised the congresswoman on energy and environment policy and directed her work on the House Appropriations Committee.  Michael also worked on public lands and conservation issues at Defenders of Wildlife, and he began his policy career in the office of Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid.  A proud Latino American and member of the LGBTQ community, Michael grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He received his B.A. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University and his M.P.P. from The George Washington University.
