Mr. van Dalen retired in 2023 following a career as a military attorney in the United States Air Force. He also served as an adjunct professor at Lincoln Memorial University - Duncan School of Law, starting in 2023, where he continues in a part time role. He also owns a farm. He received a B.S. in Criminal Justice from San Jose State University and a J.D. from Whittier Law School. Mr. van Dalen lives in Sunbright, Tennessee, and was first appointed to the board in March 2026.
