Preliminary Notice of Violation issued to the University of California related to Radiological Uptakes, a Radioactive Material Spill, and Radiological Protection Program, Quality Assurance, and Safety Basis Deficiencies at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

On February 23, 2006, the National Nuclear Security Administration issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (EA-2006-01) to the University of California for violations of 10 C.F.R. Parts 830 and 835 associated with an August 2004 radiological uptake event, a April 2005 phosphorous spill event, and longstanding radiation protection program, quality assurance, and safety basis deficiencies at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
