On September 21, 1998, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (EA 98-09) to Westinghouse Savannah River Company for violations of 10 C.F.R. 830 associated with deficiencies in bioassay participation requirements and corrective actions to remedy those deficiencies at DOE's Savannah River Site.
