Mobile melt consolidation is working with NNM and DOE headquarters to develop processes for disposition of nuclear materials by melting into stainless steel or aluminum ingots. Ingots will be demonstrated without actinides first. Later the furnace will be converted and EEC will be revised to include small amounts of depleted uranium and thorium.
