The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued an amended record of decision (ROD) based on the supplement analysis (SA) for the Proposed Action to Excavate and Use Additional Disposal Panels at the WIPP Facility (DOE/EIS-0026-SA-13). The SA considered new circumstances and information following the 1997 supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS) for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Disposal Phase (DOE/EIS-0026-S2).
